Tower Kingdom is a free to play TD designed around the core of classic Tower Defense games, based on solid principles without breaking them.
The goal of TK is to build powerful, upgradable towers to shoot down Enemy attackers, spawning from Portal's that they use to invade the Kingdoms. Each Creep's health increases as you progress through the different stages. To be victorious at the highest levels, you'll need a great strategy and plan your gameplay to various challenges that you will face.
The flexibility of the game allows for multiple strategies that will accommodate individual player styles.
Bosses will spawn during the maps dropping much needed loot to strengthen your cause. The end Boss will drop even more powerful loot to be collected by the Pet. Players can place Towers anywhere on the Power Grid or in the Dome for extra boosts.
Players can have up to 3 characters which they level up over time. As your character level your towers become stronger in various areas determined by the player. Players can also equip their characters with better equipment that are dropped by mini bosses or main bosses. A player market is also available for players to sell or buy gear as well as various items. The in-game crafting system also allow players to improve their gear by slotting gear with items that has been dropped by creeps.
As players play they earn experience points as well as skill points. Experience points is used to level your character and skill points are used by the character to permanently increase the efficiency of their towers. One player might go for more damage, another might focus more on range or fire rate. Its all up to the character how they would like to improve/build their character and tower skills.
Towers fall into 3 main categories namely Attack, Support or Dome. Attack towers are used to apply direct damage to the creeps. Support towers slow creeps down or increase your power grid that is used to power your towers. The dome and its support towers are used to increase damage, fire rate or range for all towers built within the dome area. It also slows or applies damage to creeps that are within the dome area.
All towers built use power to function and players can strategically increase their power grid over time whilst playing a map. As towers are upgraded it uses more power and thus a player might have to choose during a game on whether to upgrade a tower or maybe upgrade their power grid if they are running low on power. A player can decrease the power usage of towers, if they are running low on power, which in turn will decrease the damage output of towers.
The classic maps cater for 1 to 4 players in co-op mode and may have more than one spawn point, depending on the number of players playing the map. Usually span speed increases over time as well as the creeps speed and/or health. Players can set the number of waves they would like to combat against as well as the maps difficulty level. Maps can also be set to survival mode where the challenge become how long a player can hold out on a particular map.
Players can create their own kingdoms (guilds) which other players can join. Each kingdom has a Kingdom map with various territories. On each territory on the map, which are conquered by the kingdom, various buffs can be placed. These buffs will increase a players damage, fire rate, range etc whilst they are playing various classic maps or campaign maps.
Each character can have one pet active whilst playing a map. The pet will listen to your commands and will do all the looting for you. Some of the pets are faster than others, some have more stamina or carrying strength. The pet system are intended to make playing easier for players, allowing them to focus on their game-play and strategy whilst the pet takes care of the looting etc.
